Traffic Problems in Kitchissippi

Traffic Kitchissippi Ward has seen a significant increase in population over the past few years due to the City’s focus on intensification. This has translated in a rise in the level of traffic and the ensuing problems associated with it. Most streets in the ward are experiencing pressures as a result of this and particularly residential streets which were not originally built to accommodate current levels. As a result, Councillor Leadman has been working with residents and community associations across the ward to take steps to reduce speeds, address driver behaviour and the number of cars cutting through residential streets.

City Stop Signs Set to be Installed at Crossfield and Windermere

Traffic Councillor Leadman received word on June 30 that new stop signs had been approved and will be placed at the intersection of Crossfield Avenue and Windermere Avenue in the next two weeks.
Following the public meeting on June 24, Councillor Leadman, city staff and the Ottawa Police worked together to evaluate the status of this intersection.

Windermere and Crossfield Stop Sign Update

Traffic Councillor Leadman, along with local police, a representative from the City’s traffic department and the manager of public works all attended a public meeting on July 24 to discuss the issue of stop signs at Crossfield Avenue and Windermere Ave with residents.
